Hail Casesar

Hail Caesar is a table top war game encompassing the historical timeline from the biblical ages through the middle ages. Warlord Games claims a list of over one-hundred armies to choose from as you simulate historical battles and campaigns or devise your own scenarios. Because the system is based on the physical size of the formation front and not the number of models, it can make it easy to create 'large' units with fewer models. This also means that unit basing and formations may differ than some more open systems such as 40k. This also means that holding off on painting these models may create a headache later as they might interfere with each other. Also, although this system is still based on a one person activating their entire army and then the next, it does add for some variability with orders potentially failing and therefore some units not getting a turn
